Laura Garcia Fuster
Biography
Laura is a team director within the M&A Practice Group at Baker McKenzie's Barcelona office, where she joined in 2014. She holds a dual degree in Law and Business Administration from the University of Valencia, as well as a Master's in International Business Law from ESADE.
In addition to her legal practice, Laura serves as a professor of Business Law at ESADE Business School in Sant Cugat del Vallés.
From the beginning, we at Baker McKenzie have participated in different corporate social responsibility programs. The most recent, coinciding with our 25th anniversary in Barcelona, is the pro bono advice agreement with the Sant Joan de Déu Charitable Organization. Other outstanding projects include the agreement to create and advise the Liceu Barcelona Opera House US Foundation and regular contributions to the food bank.
Practice Focus
Laura's practice focuses on advising both Spanish and international clients, primarily in business acquisition and transfer processes (M&A) as well as corporate governance and reorganization projects. She has extensive experience leading due diligence processes, negotiating transaction terms, and drafting the legal documentation required to successfully close deals. Laura also advises on local and cross-border reorganizations and regularly participates in board and shareholder meetings. Laura worked in Baker McKenzie's London office as part of the Corporate Reorganizations Practice Group.
She has advised clients across a wide range of industries, including construction, infrastructure, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, education, video games, and retail. Her experience spans both private equity and industrial clients.
