Biography
Meryem Bouguern is a junior associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group in the Brussels office. She joined Baker McKenzie in 2024.
Practice Focus
Meryem primarily advises and assists national and international clients in their contentious matters before judicial courts and arbitral tribunals. Additionally, she assists clients in regulatory and compliance issues in various legal aspects of business and commercial law.
Representative Legal Matters
- Assisting and representing an international organisation targeted by a garnishments for an aggregated amount of USD 300 million in several strategic and complex proceedings before Belgian courts.
- Assisting and representing a foreign real estate investor in a lease dispute against major real estate operator.
- Assisted an iconic motorcycle manufacturer in proceedings before Belgian courts in relation to import taxes.
Corporate Responsibility
Member of LVA (Lawyers Victim Assistance): project aimed at providing victims of sexual and domestic violence with appropriate legal support.
