Biography

Rami joined the firm in 2021 and has been practicing in the Middle East for seven years. Rami specializes in litigation and disputes resolution across a variety of industry sectors including construction, real estate, pharmaceutical and general commercial disputes. Rami has gained particular experience in representing clients before the Saudi, UAE and Lebanese courts including the enforcement of judgments in addition to foreign and domestic arbitration awards.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Acted for an African bank in a USD 130 million dispute against a global conglomerate. The claim included filing both criminal and commercial claims and seeking attachments over property and bank accounts.
  • Advised on the termination of several commercial distribution agreements under Saudi law.
  • Advised several leading contractors on disputes relating to calls on bonds issued in connection with construction projects.
  • Acted for a regional contractor before the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Courts in a USD 95 million construction dispute for a landmark project in the UAE.
  • Acted for a US based F&B company in a USD 95 million claim relating to trademark infringement and termination of franchise agreements.
  • Acted for an international freight forward company in a criminal claim relating to the embezzlement of company funds.
  • Acted for a global leading engineering company in a complex dispute with its Saudi JV partner involving the dissolution of the JV.
  • Acted for a worldwide tobacco company in a SAR 2 billion dispute against its local distributor in relation to claims arising from customs duties. 
  • Acted for a pharmaceutical foreign company in a claim with its local distributor in relation to unpaid outstanding amounts. 
  • Acted for several international institutions in various labor disputes.
  • Assisted several international pharmaceutical companies in various internal investigations relating to employees misconduct.
  • Advised on matters of UAE and Saudi laws in relation to the enforcement of domestic and foreign arbitration awards under UAE and Saudi laws, New York Convention and the DIFC Rules.
