Biography

Alyssa is Baker McKenzie's Chief Sustainability Officer, responsible for the development and oversight of the Firm's sustainability program, including target-setting, decarbonization and emissions monitoring, measurement and reporting. In her role, she works closely with other Firm functions to help integrate sustainability priorities into their work and support the Firm’s broader Firm’s sustainability efforts and engages regularly with the Firm’s practitioners advising clients on sustainability and ESG, sharing insights on the operational realities of sustainability to help them provide practical legal advice to clients and anticipate client demand. She also plays a key role in the Firm's relationships with global policy-shaping forums such as the World Economic Forum, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the UN Global Compact, with a keen focus on engaging the businesses community on sustainability issues, and promoting collaboration, working with clients and like-minded businesses to encourage deeper corporate engagement on sustainability. A strong advocate of collaboration within the legal sector to advance sustainability, Alyssa worked closely with the UN Global Compact in the development of its Legal Council and actively engages with the NZLA.

Alyssa brings to the role of Chief Sustainability Officer over 30 years of experience with the Firm as a dual-qualified (US and France) lawyer, including as Global Chair of the Firm's Consumer Goods & Retail (CG&R) Industry Group, a partner in the Paris office of Baker McKenzie, the head of the Paris office M&A practice and a member of the Firm’s EMEA M&A Steering Committee, and is recognized for her strong client relationships, strong understanding of business and strategy and deep industry knowledge.

As Global Chair of the CG&R industry group, Alyssa organized numerous initiatives, seminars, roundtables and conferences with global industry experts focused on sustainability given its strategic importance to the industry. She created a Baker McKenzie podcast series, Off the Shelf, to provide short, practical tips and legal advice to CG&R companies, was ranked by Legal 500 as a “Leading Individual” in the luxury goods sector, acts as a judge for the BeautyMatter awards, participated in the Vogue Business Brand Index as a member of its Advisory Board, and was a member of the Positive Luxury sustainability council. Given her strong profile in sustainability and in the CG&R sector, she engages regularly with the media and is a frequent speaker and editorial contributor on topics related to sustainability and on the CG&R sector.

Alyssa is based in Paris, France, is a Franco-American dual national and speaks French and English fluently.
