Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce that George Avraam, a distinguished trial and appellate litigation partner in the Firm’s Toronto office, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), one of the most selective and prestigious honors in the legal profession.
Invitation to fellowship in the ACTL is extended by existing Fellows only after a rigorous vetting process and is reserved for trial lawyers who have demonstrated the highest standards of courtroom advocacy, professionalism, civility and ethical conduct. Fellowship recognizes excellence in trial practice and a sustained commitment to the administration of justice.
George’s practice focuses on high stakes trial and appellate litigation, serving as lead counsel before trial and appellate courts, administrative tribunals, and arbitration panels, including appearances before the Supreme Court of Canada. He represents clients in complex, reputation critical matters spanning labor and employment disputes, administrative and public law, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, and commercial and shareholder litigation. A trusted advisor to boards and executive leadership teams, George provides strategic counsel on sensitive matters such as cross border disputes, investigations and crisis management.
George is a member of Baker McKenzie’s North America Trial Team, which is fully integrated into the Firm’s Dispute Resolution Practice and includes former prosecutors and government officials, among other seasoned lawyers, who bring decades of trial experience to the table. The Trial Team has tried and won cases in nearly every jurisdiction in the United States.
