Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the legal landscape across Asia, with Southeast Asia emerging as a key hub for legal technology adoption and innovation. In a recent Law.com International webinar, Ben Allgrove, Partner and Chief Innovation Officer at Baker McKenzie, joined a panel to explore how law firms in the region are adapting to the accelerating integration of AI in legal practice.
Ben highlights that the traditional role of lawyers and business of law are evolving, noting, “The business of telling clients what the law is is gone. The technology will be able to tell you what the law is.”
He points to a deeper transformation underway, “Once you go beyond personal productivity and service line-specific technology, the real change is coming at the orchestration layer. That is where I think we’re going to start seeing some changes over next few years, and where Asia Pacific, in particular, has an opportunity to leapfrog.”
