Alex Dowding heads the Competition & Distribution Practice Group of the Firm’s Paris office. He regularly contributes to the Global Merger Notifications Handbook and Acquiring Companies and Businesses in Europe, and is a frequent presenter in conferences and seminars on various competition and distribution law topics. Mr. Dowding is a member of the Association Française d’Etudes de la Concurrence and the League Internationale du Droit de la Concurrence.
Mr. Dowding advises industry clients in all aspects of French and EU competition and distribution law. He is knowledgeable in the competition implications of mergers, joint ventures and other complex transactions. He also handles regulatory investigations and competition litigation before competition authorities and courts. Mr. Dowding likewise provides insightful counsel on the implantation of distribution networks, and assists in the negotiation and drafting of agreements implementing selective and exclusive distribution, franchise and agency agreements. He also works on antitrust and competition compliance programs and handles the merger aspects of cross-border transactions with other lawyers throughout Europe.
