Biography

Silke Fritz joined Baker McKenzie, Frankfurt/Main in July 2009. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, she had been working as a Projects Associate for another international law firm in Frankfurt for two years. Silke studied business law at the University of Applied Sciences, Trier. She achieved her Master of Laws at the University of London, Queen Mary and Westfield College.

Practice Focus

Ms. Fritz works as a counsel in the Banking & Finance team in Frankfurt advising banks, investors and borrowers on all aspects of banking and finance law, especially in relation to national and international financing transactions in the areas of acquisition finance, real estate finance and syndicated lending.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised Thor Industries on the financing of its acquisition of the Hymer Group, a German major competitor on the camper market.

  • Advised Chr. Hansen Holding A/S in relation to financing matters on the acquisition of Jennewein Biotechnologie GmbH, a leading player in the Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMO) market.

  • Advised the arranger on the provision of a bridge loan facility in connection with Global Wafers' proposed acquisition of German semiconductor manufacturer, Siltronic AG.

  • Advised Weatherford on the German part of the exit financing, the financial restructuring and the completion of the Chapter 11 procedure.

  • Advised UBS Switzerland AG and Credit Suisse (Switzerland) Ltd. and a syndicate of banks in a CHF 1.5 billion revolving credit financing for two Swiss airlines with the Swiss Confederation securing the financing via surety covering 85 percent of the facility amount.

  • Advised Zürcher Kantonalbank as coordinator, agent and lender together with other syndicate banks on the establishment of a new five-year CHF 525 million syndicated credit facility for a Swiss company.

  • Advised Credit Suisse on the acquisition financing for the acquisition of n3k Informatik by a Swiss/German investment company.

  • Advised Commerzbank AG on the EUR 80 million financing for the acquisition of a US target group, active in the field of the production of pharmaceuticals.

  • Acted for several private equity investors in relation to investments in distressed debt.

  • Acted as borrower's counsel for Knauf on its acquisition financing for the purchase of the USG group.

  • Advised major international banks in relation to various acquisition and ECA financings.
