Baker McKenzie Switzerland advised Bächler + Güttinger AG ("Bächler + Güttinger"), one of the leading gardening and landscaping companies in Switzerland, on its merger with three well established Swiss gardening and landscaping businesses, namely Menétrey SA ("Menétrey"), based in the canton of Vaud, Egger SA ("Egger") and Berger Roman AG ("Berger Roman"), both based in the canton of Solothurn.

The merger with the companies will enable Bächler + Güttinger to work more intensively in the respective regions in the field of horticulture and garden maintenance and to grow on a national basis. The customers of Menétrey, Egger and Berger Roman can be offered a much broader range of services.

Bächler + Güttinger, based in Kiesen/BE, is one of the largest gardening and landscaping companies in Switzerland. The company focuses on professional consulting, planning, construction and maintenance of gardens and sports facilities for companies, private individuals and public institutions. With local offices in the cantons of Berne, Fribourg, Solothurn, Vaud, and Valais, the company has a strong foothold in Switzerland. Bächler + Güttinger was founded over 100 years ago and is now privately owned.

Alexander Fischer (partner, M&A, Zurich) and Alexander Blaeser (partner, M&A, Zurich) led the Baker McKenzie team. Manuel Meyer (partner, M&A, Zurich) co-led the transaction with Menétrey, while Matthias Trautmann (counsel, M&A, Zurich) co-led the transactions with Egger and Berger Roman.
