Milton Cheng heads the Firm’s Asia-Pacific REITs Practice Group in Hong Kong. He has consistently been recognized as a leading lawyer in his field by Chambers Asia, The Asia Pacific Legal 500 and IFLR 1000. He is the Firm’s representative in the Management Board of the Asian Public Real Estate Association, and is also a member of the Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.

Mr. Cheng has considerable experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, financial services regulation and corporate finance. He frequently advises clients — including financial institutions, multinationals and Hong Kong-listed firms — on a wide range of acquisition, restructuring, advisory and corporate finance work.

- Advising Regal REIT on its first post-IPO property acquisition in Hong Kong.
- Advising ARA Asset Management (Singapore) Limited, as manager of Fortune REIT on its acquisition of three retail properties in Hong Kong for a total consideration of HKD2.039 billion and related financing arrangements.
- Acting for Hong Kong-listed leading international frozen seafood supplier Pacific Andes International Holdings Limited on its rights issue in Hong Kong to raise approximately HKD566.4 million.
- Acting for The Link REIT on the establishment of a USD1 billion guaranteed euro medium-term note programme.
- Advising ARA Asset Management Limited’s flagship private real estate fund, ARA Asia Dragon Fund, on the successful acquisition of the Nanjing International Finance Center, a newly completed 51-storey Grade A office cum retail building.
- Advising Champion REIT as lead counsel on the combined USD600 million convertible bond issue offered internationally, USD379 million international equity placement and a term loan of USD314 million for the USD1.65 billion acquisition of Langham Place Mall & Office Tower.
