Global Dispute Resolution

Decisive and swift

In today’s global marketplace, disputes are growing in number and complexity. Businesses are facing intense competition and must manage the risks and challenges in doing business locally and internationally. Higher accountability standards and tighter regulatory scrutiny increase exposure and vulnerability. We are uniquely positioned to help you navigate these complexities with confidence, while achieving your strategic and commercial objectives.

At Baker & McKenzie, you have access to one of the largest and most recommended Dispute Resolution practices in the world. Our practice includes more than 750 locally qualified practitioners, including many lawyers recognized as leaders in dispute resolution. Chambers Global ranks our practice in 35 countries/regions and we are also recognized as a leading firm in the area of cross-border disputes and international arbitration.

We assemble efficient teams to minimize the cost and time it takes to resolve your disputes. Our lawyers partner with you to identify and implement the most appropriate business solutions, either by pursuing or defending litigation, arbitration or other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, like mediation. We also work closely with other practice areas to develop compliance programs and perform risk assessments to help reduce your overall litigation exposure. Our experience in complex, high-stakes, multijurisdictional disputes and deep local roots mean we can deal effectively with the substantive issues and subtle nuances of managing your disputes wherever they arise.

The Council Regulation on Jurisdiction and the Recognition and Enforcement of Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters is the centerpiece of European international civil procedural law. The Brussels Ia Regulation applies to proceedings instituted on or after 10 January 2015.
The scope of disputes is becoming increasingly broad, in terms of the technical issues at hand, the number of stakeholders and also the public relations issues. Managing effectively all these difficult issues and stakeholders is the key to resolving a dispute successfully and efficiently. We will demonstrate how to do this by evaluating both the technical issues at hand, and also the tactical options available to taxpayers.
The Administrative Court Proceedings Code (ACPC) establishes new processes and sets the order for administrative cases considered by Russia’s Supreme Court and courts of general jurisdiction. The ACPC introduces several changes to active legislation, including noteworthy revisions to provisions of the Civil Procedure Code.
