Biography

Mag. Claudia Fochtmann-Tischler joined the Baker McKenzie Vienna office in 2021. She is a leading member of the Vienna Corporate/M&A Practice Group, where Claudia successfully co-leads all M&A transactions our Firm's Vienna M&A team advises on. Claudia is a distinguished, experienced and driven M&A lawyer with extensive knowledge in advising and guiding clients in cross-border inbound and outbound mergers and acquisitions, carve-out transactions and complex national and international corporate reorganisations for more than 10 years. From 2011 to 2021 she worked as an associate and then senior associate at one of the largest independent Austrian law firms, where Claudia advised national and international clients in all kinds of corporate matters, corporate reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions with a strong track record in the banking sector. In 2013, she gained valuable experience in the legal department at a listed Austrian company in the textile industry.

Practice Focus

Claudia is focused on mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and corporate law matters. She advises multinational and domestic clients on M&A transactions, complex corporate national and cross-border reorganizations, general corporate law matters and joint ventures.

She further regularly advises clients on warranty and indemnity insurance and related deal risk products.

  • Advised VINCI Energies S.A. on the acquisition of significant parts of the IT services business of Kontron AG.
  • Advised Koch Industries on the Austrian aspects of the USD 2.7 billion sale of its enterprise asset management business.
  • Advised Accenture on the purchase of ARZ Allgemeines Rechenzentrum.
  • Advised Amundi on the acquisition of Austrian robo-adviser Savity.
  • Advised Sika AG on the acquisition of MBCC Group.
