Tomas Skoumal

 

Baker McKenzie Prague is pleased to announce that Tomáš Skoumal has been elected its new managing partner. Tomáš is taking over the position from Martin Hrodek, who served as the office’s managing partner for two consecutive terms.

Tomáš obtained his Diploma in Legal Studies at Cardiff Law School of the University of Wales in 1995 and graduated from the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague in 1997. After being admitted to the Bar, Tomáš joined Baker McKenzie’s Prague office in 1997 as a junior associate. He was appointed partner in 2006.

In his legal career, Tomáš primarily focuses on mergers & acquisitions, private equity and corporate restructurings, and heads the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity practice groups, as well as the Energy, Mining & Infrastructure industry group in the Prague office. He represents public and private companies in a wide range of mergers and acquisitions across a diverse range of industries, including energy & infrastructure, pharmaceuticals & healthcare, manufacturing and information technology.

Tomáš has been recognized for his proficiency in his areas of practice by major legal directories. He has been ranked Tier 1 by Chambers Global since 2015, recognized as Leading Individual / member of the Hall of Fame by Legal 500 since 2012, and named Leading/Highly Regarded Lawyer by IFLR 1000 since 2012.

Tomáš’ election coincides with an important milestone of the Prague office itself, marking its 30th year of legal excellence on the Czech market.
