Baker McKenzie has once again been recognized as one of Mexico's Socially Responsible Companies, the fifth consecutive year the Firm has been selected. The annual rankings are presented by Expansión magazine and the Schulich Business School and are awarded to companies with outstanding actions in three main areas: business management, environment and social impact.

When compared to the data from the previous edition, the report indicates that award recipients have made progress in promoting efforts on social responsibility issues. Although the main change drivers are still the collaborators (reported at 56%), today there are other important players that promote these practices, such as shareholders (with 26%) and the community (with 45.3%). In addition to supporting environmental causes (93.3%), the report also highlights the progress seen in other areas covered by the socially responsible companies, including the community, gender equality, diversity, labor welfare and governance.

"As a Firm, the active and constant promotion of our objectives of diversity, equality, inclusion and sustainability are not just a part of our business efforts, they are part of the essence of Baker McKenzie and of all our collaborators. I am pleased to receive this recognition on behalf of all of us who make up this Firm and who contribute with their work and dedication to promoting a culture of social responsibility inside and outside our offices," commented José Larroque, National Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie in Mexico.

Over the years, the Firm has become well known in the professional services sector for its emphasis on socially responsible practices. In addition to this, we have been active in promoting the evolving conversation in our society around ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) issues, a practice we intend to continue.

For Baker McKenzie, keeping ourselves up-to-date and collaborating with all relevant stakeholders in our community remains our highest priority. We will continue our joint work to promote our values such as equality, equity, and the responsible use of natural resources, which will undoubtedly allow us to advance towards a more prosperous Mexico for all.
