Samantha Mobley heads the EU, Competition & Trade Practice Group of Baker & McKenzie’s London office. She also leads the Global Antitrust & Competition Practice Group, comprising a team of over 300 competition and antitrust professionals worldwide. Samantha is recommended as a leading individual for the competition and litigation practice in the Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession. She is also featured in Global Competition Review’s Survey, “Women in Antitrust” as one of the top 100 women in antitrust globally and has recently been appointed to The Times Law Panel.

Samantha has extensive experience in all areas of EC and UK competition law and is an eminent name in the cartel field and an experienced merger control specialist. She has been involved in numerous cases coordinating the merger aspects of multijurisdictional transactions and regularly defends clients involved in international cartel investigations and prepares antitrust and competition programmes for all industry sectors.

• Advised BBC Trust, the BBC's regulator, on market impact, competition and fair trading issues.
• Advised Rio Tinto plc on competition law matters.
• Representing a UK soft drinks company in connection with the Office of Fair Trading's investigation into supermarket retail pricing.
• Achieved complete immunity from fines for Clariant International in the European Commission's investigation into alleged collusion in the MCAA chemical industry.
• Advising Royal Dutch Shell plc on the Office of Fair Trading's investigation into the retail sale of tobacco products.
• Represented the Russian rough diamond producer, ALROSA, in successfully challenging a European Commission settlement with De Beers before the European Courts.
