The Dutch Council of State recently ruled that Japanese nationals no longer need a permit to work in the Netherlands. The court cited a 1912 treaty between the Netherlands and Japan, which states that nationals of both countries can enter and reside in each other's territories provided their respective laws are followed.
The February 2015 Corporate Structures Newsletter summarizes three topics: an attempt to expand private single proprietorships (SUPs) throughout the EU; new regulations on the flow of company information; and a proposal to reduce fraud by barring directors of a bankrupt company from serving on another board.
The 2016 Budget Memorandum released on 15 September contains the Tax Plan 2016 with certain amendments to Dutch tax law. Proposed amendments set to take effect on 1 January 2016 will affect Dutch corporate income tax, dividend withholding tax, and wage withholding tax, among others.
