Loke-Khoon Tan heads the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in Hong Kong and China. He is a member of the IP Global Steering Committee and heads the Asia Pacific Region IP Group. Mr. Tan holds positions in various industry bodies, including serving as chairman of the MARQUES China team and sitting on the anti-counterfeiting committee of the Hong Kong group of the Asian Patent Attorney’s Association. Mr. Tan frequently writes for IP publications and is the author of Trademark Law in the People’s Republic of China, Pirates in the Middle Kingdom: The Art of Trademark War, and Pirates in the Middle Kingdom: The Ensuing Trademark Battle. He is also the contributing author of Managing Business Disputes in Today's China Duelling with Dragons and he is working on the third edition of Pirates in the Middle Kingdom.

Mr. Tan focuses his practice on the structuring of intellectual property rights and anti-counterfeiting planning in the area of trademarks, patents, copyright, trade names, unfair competition, designs, labeling laws, food, drug and health regulations, consumer, media and advertising laws. He also advises clients on domain name, internet, computer software and technology laws. Mr. Tan has extensive experience representing major brands and leading corporations in various industries, including luxury and fashion, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, alcohol and liquor, and others.
