Joachim Frick advises Swiss and international clients on all aspects of corporate, commercial and insurance law. He also represents them in M&A transactions and related arbitration and litigation proceedings. Dr. Frick frequently acts as party counsel in arbitration proceedings — with special emphasis on post M&A disputes — and has served as an arbitrator in Swiss and international arbitrations. In addition Mr. Frick frequently advises corporate and individual clients with respect to insurance and aviation law. He heads the Firm’s Insurance Practice Group in Zurich, and is a member of the Europe Insurance Practice Group Steering Committee. In addition to his practice, he has published several articles for Swiss and international publications and has served as professor of law at Zurich University. He was awarded a Howard M. Holtzman Fellowship in International Arbitration by Yale Law School, and is a member of various arbitration associations.
Practice Focus
Mr. Frick represents clients in M&A and private equity transactions and advises on all aspects of corporate and commercial law. He frequently represents Swiss and foreign companies in commercial arbitration proceedings (Swiss Chambers, ICC, AAA-proceedings etc.) with special emphasis on post M&A disputes. In addition, he advises insurance and reinsurance companies on legal and regulatory matters and represents clients in insurance and reinsurance disputes. Mr. Frick also advises on all aspects of aviation law and represents airlines and private clients in aircraft finance transactions.

- Representation of private equity seller in sale of global group of companies, with deal value in excess of CHF2 billion.
- Representation of sellers with respect to sale of insurance company to Swiss purchaser, with deal value in excess of CHF200 million.
- Representation of German purchaser (private equity) with respect to acquisition of Swiss group of companies, with deal value in excess of CHF300 million.
- Representation of foreign bank in arbitration under a share purchase agreement.
- Representation of Swiss seller in arbitration under share purchase agreement for sale of medical company.
- Representation of Swiss and foreign insurance carriers in litigation proceedings concerning reinsurance and coverage issues.
- Provided legal and regulatory advice to Swiss insurance intermediaries.
- Representation of airline company with respect to acquisition, financing and registration of aircraft.
