Celeste Ang is an associate principal in Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow. Ms. Ang’s practice encompasses corporate litigation and arbitration, both domestic as well as cross-border. Having started her practice in 1999 with one of Singapore’s largest litigation and dispute resolution firms, she joined the Firm in 2007.

Ms. Ang’s practice is focused on litigation & dispute resolution, international arbitration and intellectual property. She is also experienced in the areas of employment and labor law, and oil and energy-related disputes.

Representative Legal Matters

• Advising and representing an owner and operator of a power plant in Central Asia in International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration proceedings against a statutory authority for, amongst other things, sums due under a power purchase agreement.
• Advising and representing a US-based global car rental operator in ICC arbitration proceedings with its Indian franchisee for breach of a licensing agreement governed by Indian law, and defending substantial counterclaims by the franchisee.
• Represented a subsidiary of an international heavy equipment manufacturer in a UNCITRAL international arbitration administered by Singapore International Arbitration Centre involving disputes regarding the quality of commodity delivered from Philippines to China pursuant to a supply agreement.
• Represented a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest inter-dealer broking firms in multiple proceedings against over 30 of its employees and one competitor on the en masse departure of employees seeking reliefs for breach of employment contracts.
• Represented one of the world's leading cosmetic brands in a trademark infringement and passing off action against an aesthetic clinic and its related company for wrongful use of a well-known trademark.
• Represented former subsidiaries of a leading European confectionary manufacturer in defending an action for alleged copyright infringement regarding the use of a trademark for a line of biscuits manufactured and distributed in Singapore, Malaysia and India.
• Advised a Singapore-based subsidiary of an international oil trading giant on fraudulent reporting by an energy trader concealing losses of over SGD100 million.
