Baker McKenzie has advised BX BUNKA AUSTRALIA and BX BUNKA NEW ZEALAND, wholly-owned subsidiaries of Japanese company Bunka Shutter, on their acquisitions of Doorworks Australia (Bunka Shutter's fourth acquisition in Australia), Windsor Doors, Windsor Doors (S.I.), Jones Door Company (2005) and Doors 2000 (“Windsor Group”) (Bunka Shutter's first acquisition in New Zealand).
Bunka Shutter produces and sells various types of rolling shutters, house and building construction materials. Doorworks Australia has been operating in Australia since 2012 and specializes in the design, manufacture and sale of residential garage doors. Windsor Group has been operating in New Zealand for more than 30 years and has the No. 2 position in the New Zealand market for garage doors for new residential homes.
These cross-border transactions involved both Baker McKenzie’s Tokyo and Sydney offices advising Bunka Shutter.
