Recent developments such as the CCCS’s Price Transparency Guidelines, the CCCS’s COVID-19 Guidance Note, findings from the CCCS’s e-Commerce Platform market study report, and the CCCS’s ongoing public consultation exercise to update its competition guidelines were covered in the interview. Winnie Ching was Director (Legal) on 1 April 2016. She joined the CCCS in 2010 as a Senior Assistant Director of the Legal and Enforcement Division. She had previously worked for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the then Office of Fair Trading in the United Kingdom, as well as for the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority. She was named as one of the top 100 women in antirust by the Global Competition Review in 2016. |

Commissioner Amabelle Asuncion was appointed as a Commissioner in January 2017. She has extensive experience in both commercial and corporate practice within the context of private and public sector issues. Prior to joining the PCC, she served in various capacities, including as advocacy adviser, director for legal and regulatory affairs, legislative officer, adjudication chief, as well as a law professor. |
This podcast series was prepared by the Baker McKenzie Tokyo Competition Practice Group in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Antitrust enforcement across the world continues to be very active, with some antitrust enforcers commencing investigations that are directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses should keep abreast of these developments, in order to quickly adapt to the changing regulatory climate.
