Courtenay is a senior associate in the Technology, Communications and Commercial team at Baker McKenzie, Sydney. She is also qualified to practice in New Zealand.
Courtenay was recognised as a finalist in both the 'Technology' and 'Telecommunications and Media' categories of the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards 2020.
Courtenay has a broad commercial practice focused on helping clients across a variety of sectors to navigate regulatory issues relating to the commercialisation of technology, online services and data.
Courtenay advises on commercial contracting arrangements for the procurement of business critical IT solutions, infrastructure and services, and other supply arrangements. She has particular experience advising on issues relating to privacy, data protection and information security, including in the broader Asia-Pacific context as a secondee for a major global social media and technology company. She also regularly advises on the regulation of digital media, across a variety of sectors.
