Biography
Oleg Tkachenko is a counsel in the Moscow office of Baker McKenzie and has obtained the status of a Russian advocate, which allows him to practice criminal law and procedure. He also specializes in investigations and commercial litigation.
Representative Legal Matters
- Defended the management of a large fertilizer trader in a criminal case related to the theft of products by selling them at underestimated prices
- Defended foreign nationals in criminal proceedings in Russia in relation to accusations of illegal diamond trade and infliction of damages via deceit and abuse of trust
- Defended foreign nationals charged with theft of real estate objects and equipment
- Represented a foreign company in a criminal inquiry regarding a discrimination case
- Advised a company in a long-lasting criminal case (fraud) that was investigated by Russian authorities and connected with a raider's attack on a Russian company; advised on criminal law and procedure, detention procedure in Russia and other issues
- Worked as part of a group of lawyers who prepared claims to the European Court of Human Rights and Interpol seeking to remove clients from the Interpol Red List; advised on these issues
- Participated in a number of internal investigations
- Represented companies in Russian courts in proceedings related to corruption offenses (Article 19.28 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences)
- Advised individuals charged with illegal business and tax evasion in Russia
- Defended a foreign national charged with large-scale theft
