Michael L. Telford is an associate in Baker McKenzie's Tax Practice Group in Houston. He advises on federal income tax and general tax matters. Prior to joining the Firm, Michael was a tax associate at another international law firm in Houston. He handled tax matters related to a broad mixture of domestic and cross-border transactions primarily for multinational companies in the energy industry.
Michael routinely advises public and private companies on federal income tax matters, particularly in capital markets and bank finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions. His experience includes providing audit and litigation support to clients in tax controversy matters before the US Internal Revenue Service. He also works on deal structuring and analysis, due diligence, legal entity rationalization, stock basis studies, Section 382 analysis, attribute reduction calculations, and general consulting regarding domestic and international transactions.
