Derek Soller is a member of the Firm’s Dispute Resolution Practice Group in New York, where he mainly handles international arbitration cases.
Mr. Soller focuses his practice on international arbitration. He has represented private parties in complex commercial disputes, as well as states arbitrating investor-state disputes. He also has considerable experience representing clients in domestic commercial arbitrations and commercial litigation in New York and throughout the US. Mr. Soller is also actively engaged in pro bono matters.
Representative Legal Matters
Represented a US subsidiary of French multinational in multiple disputes concerning ethanol production facilities the company had contracted to construct in the US.
Represented a national oil company in disputes with an EPC contractor over defective construction of components of an FPSO project.
Represented an Indian multinational in a US trade secret litigation.
Represented the national government in investor-state dispute in which claimant alleged expropriation of property contrary to a bilateral investment treaty.
Successfully represented a Pakistani journalist applying for asylum in the US.
