Biography

William B. Sohn is an Associate in Baker McKenzie's International Commercial Practice Group and a member of its Global Aviation Group in Washington, DC.

Practice Focus

Will represents domestic and foreign airlines, private aircraft owners, aerospace manufacturers, and other businesses on a range of aviation-related DOT and FAA regulatory matters. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Will practiced at another international law firm, where he represented a major US airline in frequency allocation proceedings, antitrust immunity proceedings, and government investigations. He also has substantial experience in antitrust matters, having represented companies in high-profile mergers and acquisitions before DOJ and FTC, antitrust litigation, and civil and criminal investigations.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Represents domestic and foreign airlines in aviation-related regulatory matters, including antitrust immunity, route proceedings, licensing, certification and exemptions, and compliance.

  • Defends airlines and other businesses in FAA enforcement proceedings.

  • Counsels clients in connection with infrastructure projects at major US airports, including airport privatizations under the FAA’s Airport Investment Partnership Program.

  • Advises corporate aircraft owners and private individuals on Part 91 operations and other regulatory issues.

  • Defended an aerospace company in an FTC investigation and a private antitrust lawsuit concerning an exclusive dealing agreement.
