Biography

Julien Schraub is a counsel in the Tax Group of Baker McKenzie’s Luxembourg office. He has more than thirteen years of experience in Luxembourg and international tax law. Prior to joining the Firm in 2010, he was a senior tax advisor in a Big Four accountancy firm's international tax services department for two years.

Practice Focus

He has experience in all areas of Luxembourg income tax law, with an emphasis on corporate taxation and fund industry. More specifically, he provides general tax planning, international tax planning, as well as tax-related matters with regard to mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring to multinational firms and asset managers involved in the private equity, real estate and debt strategies.

Julien assists the asset managers in setting up their Luxembourg regulated/non-regulated platforms, including structuring of intermediate holding, financing arrangements, management incentive plans and co-investment programs. Even though his input relates to the tax aspects of the setup, life and exit of these structures, Julien has exposure to accounting, legal and regulatory aspects of these structures with other departments of Baker McKenzie and external services providers.
