Maurice Schouten is a member of the Indirect Tax practice of Baker McKenzie Amsterdam. He is experienced in providing clients with practical solutions relating to indirect tax supply chain management, cross-border (intra-group) compliance optimization, M&A transactions and holding company issues. Prior to joining the Firm in 2010, Maurice was a tax lawyer at Deloitte in Amsterdam, where he started in 2004. He also worked for Deloitte in Brussels, Belgium for six months for the foundation of the company’s EMEA indirect tax management consulting practice.
Maurice has been involved in various supply chain restructuring projects and cross-border compliance optimization projects for international clients in the fragrance and flavors industry, pharmaceutical industry and trade sector. Furthermore, he has performed VAT due diligence reviews in relation to international M&A transactions in various industries.
