Stephanie Priel is an associate in Baker McKenzie's Los Angeles office and is a member of the Firm’s labor and employment practice. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Stephanie worked as a labor and employment associate at an international law firm.

Practice Focus

Stephanie's practice covers a wide range of labor and employment matters in state and federal court, and she litigates single plaintiff, PAGA, and class actions. She also advises clients on claims regarding joint employment, off-the-clock work, and wage and hour issues.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Represented a satellite service provider in defending twelve related, single-plaintiff actions by technicians alleging joint employment and other wage and hour violations under state and federal law.

  • Represented healthcare staffing company in a class action alleging that the client committed multiple Labor Code violations by requiring traveling nurses to work after they clocked out and during breaks.

  • Represented a national arts and crafts retailer in a class action involving alleged violations of California wage and hour laws, including: reporting time pay violations, meal and rest breaks violations, and minimum wage and overtime pay violations.

  • Represented national retailer in a PAGA action alleging that the company failed to provide suitable seating as required by a California wage order.

  • Assisted clients in updating their employee handbooks for national and California compliance.

  • Conducted an internal investigation into sexual harassment complaints.
