Oliver is an associate in the Financial Services & Regulatory Group in Baker McKenzie's London office. Oliver advises a wide variety of domestic and international financial institutions on complex legal and financial regulatory issues. Oliver regularly advises UK and international banks, investment firms, asset managers, funds, insurers, payment institutions, fintechs and other regulated and non-regulated firms.
Oliver has particular experience advising clients in the wealth and investment management and retail banking space. As well as day-to-day support to clients on their financial regulatory issues, he regularly advises on the regulatory aspects of corporate transactions in the financial services sector, as well as investigations and enforcement proceedings brought by financial regulators. Oliver has also spent time on secondment at two large international banks (UBS and Barclays) where his particular focus was advising on the impact and implementation of new UK and EU legislation (in particular, MiFID II) as well as the development and launch of new financial products.
