Biography

Riccardo Pennisi focuses mainly on competition law, trade law and European Commission law. He developed relevant experience in assisting clients on cartels and abuse of dominant position issues (either of community or national relevance), including a number of proceedings before the Italian Competition Authority and the European Commission as well as subsequent judicial reviews before competent courts.

Mr. Pennisi provides advice on antitrust and consumer protection to companies and associations in different economic sectors, especially in telecommunications, IT, chemical and pharmaceutical, insurance, oil, banking, finance, information technology and consumer goods.

He teaches competition law in the masters program organized by Sole 24 Ore and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

Practice Focus

Mr. Pennisi has considerable experience in pre-merger filings in connection with acquisitions as well as joint ventures, disinvestments and mergers.

He has also gained relevant experience in relation to unfair commercial practice issues, both in proceedings before the Italian Competition Authority and before administrative courts.

Mr. Pennisi assists clients in conducting internal audits to check general compliance with competition law, as well as in the drafting and implementation of competition compliance training programs, including presentations of such programs to managers and employees.
