
Georgios Pantelias
Biography
Georgios Pantelias is an associate in the Financial Services & Regulatory Group in the London office. Georgios has experience advising banks, asset managers, payment institutions and fintechs on UK and EU financial services regulation. Georgios has provided regulatory advice in the areas of investment services, crypto-asset trading services, market abuse, regulatory capital, recovery and resolution, and bank governance.
In addition to his private practice, Georgios is currently conducting research at the University of Oxford (part-time PhD). His thesis focuses on bank governance and examines the liability of bank directors in the UK and the US.
Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Georgios worked at the European Central Bank and practised law at another major international law firm in Luxembourg, focusing primarily on EU banking, insurance, and investment services regulation.
