Peter Mitchell is an associate in the International Tax and Wealth Management practice groups of Baker McKenzie Zurich. Peter recently earned his LL.M. in taxation from New York University. Prior to his studies, he gained several years of litigation experience in insurance coverage, federal investigations, and white collar defense.

Practice Focus

Peter focuses his practice in the fields of international tax, wealth management, and digital assets. He writes and speaks on emerging legal and regulatory issues related to blockchain, distributed ledger technologies, and initial coin offerings. He advises family offices and institutions on global wealth planning strategy, including planning for international estates, developing strategies for business succession, and structuring wealth owners’ assets. His practice also involves offering guidance to clients on a variety of international tax issues, including large multinational transfer pricing arrangements, cross-border taxation, tax controversy, financial institution reporting and compliance, and the taxation of private aircraft.
