David Mayorga is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with a postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from the same university. David also obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at Cornell University. Since January 2022, he has been working as an Associate of the Mergers and Acquisitions practice of Baker McKenzie. Before joining the firm, David worked for important local law firms and a multicategory beverage multinational company. David has more than six years of experience in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Practice Focus

David has broad experience in national and cross-border mergers and acquisitions transactions, advising national and foreign clients. His experience is focused on leading teams to conduct due diligence processes, negotiating stock and asset purchase agreements, and analyzing and developing transactional structures. Furthermore, David has expertise implementing corporate governance structures for local and foreign clients for their businesses in Colombia, advising majority and minority shareholders in shareholder disputes, and drafting bylaws, shareholder agreements, and other types of corporate governance documents. Particularly, David has advised national and foreign clients in the following industries: consumer goods and retail; financial and insurance services; industrials, manufacturing, and transportation.
