Biography

Diego Ledermann graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Law School in 2018, and joined Baker McKenzie's Dispute Resolution Group in Santiago as a junior associate in November 2019.

Mr. Ledermann has been a teaching assistant for criminal law at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Law School since 2018. Previously, he had been a teaching assistant for civil law (2019), criminal procedure law (2018) and commercial law (2016) at the same university.

Practice Focus

Mr. Diego focuses on litigation and arbitration, with an emphasis on the areas of civil, commercial, mining and criminal matters. He has participated in wide-ranging scope disputes related to breach and termination of contracts, infrastructure projects, restructuring and insolvency, criminal litigation, among others, advising Chilean and international companies.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Participated in the representation of a Chilean mining company on a national arbitration regarding the breach of twoservice provision contract, delay in the commissioning, non-fulfillment of the minimum power supply established by the contracts, as well as labor breaches.
  • Participated in various credit verification on different restructuring and insolvency procedures, both of Chilean and international companies.
  • Participated in the defense of a Chilean mining company on a trade litigation procedure of pre-contractual liability.
  • Participated in the defense and counterclaim of a Chilean mining company on a national arbitration regarding the resolution of a mining concession purchase contract.
  • Participated in the defense of a Chilean mining company on a criminal litigation as complainant for the felony of aggravated theft and mineral subtraction.
  • Participated in the defense of a Chilean mining company on a criminal litigation as complainant for the felony of aggravated theft and document falsification.
