Tomislav Krmek is an associate in Baker McKenzie's International Tax and Global Wealth Management practice groups in Zurich. He graduated from the University of Zagreb in Croatia with a master of laws’ degree and Georgetown University with a master's degree in international taxation. Subsequently, he worked as the head of tax in one of the world's largest communication companies, at a Big 4 accounting firm in New York, and as an associate at an international law firm in Zagreb. Tomislav was also a teaching assistant at Georgetown University.
Tomislav advises clients in international tax planning and global wealth management matters. He has experience in advising clients regarding withholding tax, tax treaties, permanent establishments, FATCA/CRS, various EU tax law issues involving the Parent/Subsidiary Directive, and the Interest/Royalties Directive. Throughout his career, Tomislav has worked with hedge funds, private equity funds, family offices, IT companies and individuals.
