Biography

Aram Karagueuzian is an associate in the Employment & Compensation Practice Group based in Baker McKenzie’s Los Angeles office, with experience advising clients on domestic and cross-border employment matters arising throughout the employment relationship.

Practice Focus

Aram has experience advising clients on a variety of employment matters, such as employment policies and handbooks, wage and hour compliance, workforce management, employee terminations, leaves of absence, restrictive covenants, and worker misclassification. He also advises clients on employment matters in connection with domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, as well as global corporate reorganizations. Aram’s practice includes transactional support including employee due diligence, employment aspects of transactional documents, advice regarding transferring employees, and related matters. Additionally, Aram has experience advising clients on litigation strategies regarding employment-related disputes.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company on the spin-off of a business unit and various products into a new publicly-traded company involving over 35 countries and an approximate deal value of USD 77 billion

  • Advised a global computer software company on the spin-off and sale of its information management business involving over 25 countries and an approximate deal value of USD 4 billion

  • Advised Instacart on its USD 350 million acquisition of Caper.ai

  • Routinely advise clients on employment law issues relating to COVID-19, including workplace health and safety, remote work and the return to the office, vaccination policies, and applicable government loan programs
