Sankalp Kandaswamy is an associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology practice group. Sankalp leverages his background in engineering and experience in business analytics and management consulting to help clients make data-driven, strategic decisions in business and disputes.
Sankalp's practice focuses on intellectual property, technology, and data-related transactions and counseling. He represents clients in a range of technology and commercial transactions relating to the ownership, protection, and exploitation of data and IP. He also advises clients on IP and technology issues that arise in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
In addition to his transactional work, Sankalp has experience in many other types of patent- and IP-related matters, including investigating and rendering freedom-to-operate, validity and non-infringement opinions; engaging in patent landscape analyses and assessing patent infringement risk; evaluating the strength of, and encumbrances on, trademark portfolios; and counseling clients on strategic IP issues. He frequently represents clients before the US Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and advises on patent and trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and technology-related disputes.
