Matthias Jannausch is a member of Baker McKenzie’s Antitrust & Competition practice group. Prior to joining as an associate, he worked for the team as a research assistant for several years, gaining significant experience in all areas of competition law. During his legal traineeship, he worked in the Firm’s Compliance & Dispute Resolution team in the Munich office, focusing on white collar crime and compliance matters. He also spent several years working as a research assistant in a Cologne law firm specializing in white collar crime prior to joining the Firm.

Practice Focus

Matthias advises on all aspects of German and European antitrust and competition law, with a focus on complex merger control proceedings and antitrust investigations before German and European competition authorities and courts. He also regularly assists clients in international investigations.

  • Advised LKQ in EU merger control proceedings and subsequent national referral proceedings in relation to the acquisition of Stahlgruber.

  • Advised a leading global manufacturer of automotive components in EU merger control proceedings.

  • Regularly advises an US-based Private Equity Fund in merger control proceedings.
