Biography

Andreas Jagusch is an associate of Baker McKenzie's Intellectual Property and Information Technology Practice Groups in Frankfurt since July 2021. He joined the Firm in March 2021 as a Law Clerk. Prior to this, he studied at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg and the National University of Singapore. During his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Dusseldorf, he worked for an international law firm in Dusseldorf in the area of intellectual property and information technology, a specialized IP law firm and in the department for Artificial Intelligence and Data Economy of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy in Berlin.

Practice Focus

Andreas advises German and international companies on all aspects of intellectual property and technology law and has a particular focus on digital media, e-commerce and unfair competition law matters – both litigation and advice.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised major German luxury goods company on the implementation of a Metaverse and NFT-platform, including advice on consumer law, contract law, intellectual property law, drafting of licensing agreements, trademark administration and litigation, as well as providing trainings for the legal team on factual and legal issues concerning virtual goods and NFT.

  • Advised a leading video streaming service on EU consumer laws and German unfair competition matters, including litigation.

  • Advised leading social media platforms on the implementation of the German hate speech law (NetzDG) and trainings for notice and takedown teams, advise on the requirements of the neighboring right for press publishers (Art. 15 Copyright Directive) as well as advise on notice and takedown procedure regarding copyright law and trademark law.

  • Advised a leading video game and eSports company on advertisement regulations and restrictions for crypto currency exchanges, CBD and alcohol in more than 25 jurisdictions.
