Elizabeth is a senior associate in the firm's Tax Practice group. She advises multinational clients to provide them tailor-made solutions to optimize the taxes around their day-to-day businesses and specific investment projects, and to successfully respond to liabilities arising from differences in tax law interpretation with the Mexican authorities.

Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Elizabeth worked for the Central International Large Taxpayer Audit office of Mexico’s Federal tax authority. Elizabeth’s experience includes representing Mexico in the analysis and discussions regarding Action 7 of the BEPS Action Plan at the OECD conference in Paris, which puts her ahead of the curve in her capacity to help clients address and resolve complex tax matters with global implications.

Practice Focus

Elizabeth’s principal client focus has been in the oil and gas, construction, technology, media and telecommunications, and manufacturing industries.

She provides expert strategy advice regarding sophisticated transactions involving corporate income tax issues and the interpretation of tax treaties. She is also a specialist in providing clients tax guidance related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and investment and divestment projects in México.

Elizabeth has vast experience handling complex tax controversies for a wide range of companies. Her deep knowledge and resourceful approach to addressing international tax disputes has made her an invaluable asset to her clients, as she expertly charts alternative paths for her clients to resolve their tax disputes within the context of either alternative dispute resolution mechanisms or tax litigation.
