Jonathan David Gomer is a US tax associate in Baker McKenzie’s International Tax and Global Wealth Management practice groups. Jonathan recently earned his LL.M. in taxation from the New York University School of Law. Jonathan received his JD from the Nova University’s Shepard Broad College of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude, graduated in top 5% of the class, and was a member of the Nova Law Review.
Jonathan also participated in a semester abroad in Rome with Nova’s partner school, Roma Tre, where he studied International contracts and European competition law. While in law school, Jonathan served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Judge Melanie G. May of the Fourth District Court of Appeal of Florida and was a summer associate at Tripp Scott, P.A.
Prior to law school, Jonathan earned his BS in accounting from the University of Florida’s Fisher School of Accounting.
Jonathan focuses his practice on cross-border US tax issues. He advises US and non-US clients on business planning, wealth management, and insurance matters. He also works with US taxpayers on tax compliance, citizenship, and residency matters. Jonathan has also advised non-US financial institutions on US tax and regulatory matters including FATCA and the OECD’s Common Reporting Standard.
Further, Jonathan has been involved in a matter of regulatory compliance with a multi-national institution, specifically focusing on tax investigations.
