Lev Gantly is a senior associate in the Environmental Markets team at Baker McKenzie, Sydney. Lev focuses on renewable energy transactional work across the Australian market. Lev has extensive experience in transaction structuring, negotiation and implementation cultivated through spending several years working on high profile asset-based sales, acquisitions and financings in both London and Singapore. In Australia, Lev has been assisting European and Asian clients to navigate the renewable energy investment landscape and has worked with major national clients on renewable project development and financing.

Practice Focus

Lev's focus is on assisting foreign and Australian clients with investment, structuring, development and financing of renewable energy projects as well as divestments and sales of completed projects.

Lev has also worked with clients developing and negotiating aggregated corporate power purchase agreements and similar bespoke arrangements.

  • Advising a European client throughout a competitive bid process for a number of early stage solar, wind and storage projects across various Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.

  • Advising a Thai client with a competitive bid process for an acquisition of a significant stake in a major WA wind farm development.

  • Advising a national renewable energy developer on all aspects of development and financing of a major pumped hydro facility in Queensland.

  • Advising a major multinational corporation in relation to corporate power purchase agreement strategies and options.

  • Advising a clean energy solutions provider on all aspects of a proposed aggregated corporate power purchase agreement with a major Australian retailer.

  • Assisting a major national retailer with investments into early stage wind projects in New South Wales and Victoria.
