Saif Gamal is a senior associate in the Firm’s Cairo office. Before joining Baker McKenzie, he served as a counsel at Egyptian State Council (Administrative Courts) where he had a position in the Department of Legislation and administrative contracts circuit in the higher administrative court. Through his service he has been widely exposed to Egyptian laws and regulations in relation to public tenders, state lands and various administrative licenses and regulatory bodies. He also spent 2 years of experience in arbitration disputes on state contracts, construction as well as telecommunication related disputes.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised D.H. Deutsche Hospitality Ltd. on the sale of all shares of Steigenberger Hotels AG (Company) to Huazhu Group (Huazhu).

  • Represented Shoura Chemicals in connection with the investment by Tana Africa Capital to acquire a 30% stake in Shoura Chemicals.

  • Represented Eagle Capital for Financial Investments SAE in connection with the acquisition of 41.46% of the outstanding shares of Social Impact Capital LTD (SIC) which in turn owns 84.427% of the outstanding shares for Cairo for Investment & Real Estate Development SAE (CIRA). (Incomplete)

  • Represented a Chinese real estate developer in connection with advices on procurement, real estate matters and regulatory matters.

  • Represented BW Gas Cyprus Limited in connection with corporate matters.

  • Represented Tahrir Petrochemicals Corporation in connection with corporate, regulatory and procurement advice.

  • Represented Sojitz Corporation in connection with a legal advice on usufruct agreement.

  • Represented Toshiba Machine in connection with an advice on corporate matters and agreement structure.

  • Represented a privately managed, state-owned investment firm in connection with conducting a due diligence review regarding a potential acquisition.

  • Represented a Middle East energy company in connection with the acquisition of three solar energy projects in Egypt.
