Biography

Alejandra started working at Baker McKenzie on October 2016 as a law clerk in the M&A practice group, acquiring extensive knowledge in corporate matters. On July 2017, following the regional integration of the Firm with the United States and Canada offices, she became a member of the International Commercial practice group.

From November 2017 until today, Alejandra has been a junior associate of the International Commercial practice group, acquiring broad knowledge and handling of contractual issues, as drafting contracts and identifying risks in contractual relationships; carrying out compliance investigations; participating in acquisitions of companies' assets and working on corporate maintenance of several companies.

Practice Focus

Alejandra focuses her practice in the areas of contracts, investigations and transactional matters. She regularly assists clients of the Healthcare and Industrials, Manufacturing & Transportation industries on compliance and anti-corruption internal investigations and on legal opinions regarding the enforceability of agreements in Mexico. These include agreements executed abroad with Mexican parties or with legal effects in Mexico, the effects of damages in Mexico, mitigation of risks and actions thereunder. She has also participated in transactional matters related to the acquisition of companies’ assets.

  • Represented transnational and national companies in the closing of mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, and joint ventures.

  • Draft and analyse agreements of the healthcare industry and supported the start-up of a major healthcare project related to medical expenses insurance.

  • Involved in several transactions related to the pharmaceutical, medical devices and chemical industry.

  • Advised Mexican and multinational companies regarding the preparation and implementation of their commercial agreements.

  • Assist multinational companies in criminal investigations and other proceedings involving fraud, embezzlement and bribery.
