Remo Degano holds a master's degree in international and European tax law and a bachelor's degree in tax economics. He practices in the areas of Dutch corporate tax law, dividend withholding tax and international tax law. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie in 2010, he worked as a tax consultant in one of the Big Four accounting firms for two and a half years. Remo is on a year-long secondment to the Firm's Mexico City office, where he is assists Dutch companies investing in Mexico, and advises Mexican companies investing in the Netherlands and Europe.
Remo provides strategic advice in relation to Dutch corporate tax, Dutch dividend withholding tax as well as international tax. He advises clients in different industries on, among others, international tax planning, group restructurings, M&A, inbound and outbound investments, permanent establishment issues, and treaty interpretation.
Remo is also well experienced in preparing Dutch corporate income tax returns for domestic and multinational clients (listed clients, fiscal unities and holding and financing companies) in the Netherlands, and preparing tax calculations for auditors.
