Practice Focus
Florence is the head of the IPTech Practice Group in Luxembourg. Her areas of expertise include data protection, IP/IT, as well as commercial and regulatory law. In the field of data protection, Florence advises major corporations and international groups with respect to GDPR compliance, including in the context of the development of new data-driven technologies and services (e-commerce, e-recruitment, e-health, connected devices, social media, etc.). She also assists clients regarding the notification of data breaches, as well as the drafting of data protection policies, data processing contracts and data transfer agreements. She has been involved in high-profile litigation cases before national data protection authorities and national courts.
In the field of IP, Florence assists clients with respect to the protection and enforcement of trademarks, copyrights and geographical indications. In particular, she has extensive experience in conducting trademark validity checks and registration procedures with the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP) and the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). She has also been representing various companies in seizure and legal proceedings against acts of counterfeiting. In the field of IT, Florence assists companies in navigating the web of EU and national rules on electronic communications and digital services, and in drafting IT-related contracts, such as users terms and conditions or software licensing agreements.
In the field of commercial and regulatory law, Florence assists companies in understanding and complying with various sectorial and general obligations relating to fair commercial practices, consumer protection, as well as product labeling, advertising and safety requirements across various industries (fashion, food, healthcare, cosmetics, etc.).
