Eva is a senior associate in the EU, Competition & Trade practice in London.

Practice Focus

Eva advises on all aspects of competition law with a special focus on merger control, abuse of dominance, and general competition compliance. Eva's has in-depth experience of advising clients in the financial services, industrial and manufacturing and consumer goods and retail sectors.

Eva relocated to Hong Kong in 2013 and spent nearly three years advising clients on a wide range of Hong Kong, PRC and pan-Asian competition law issues. She has also worked as a competition lawyer in Brussels and spent time on secondment to DG Competition, European Commission, Barclays PLC and General Electric.

Eva has a masters degree from the University of Oxford (St Hugh's College) and has completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Competition Law at the University of London, Kings College.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advising ION Group on the CMA's investigation into the completed acquisition of financial trading solutions provider Broadway Technology, including negotiating remedies with the CMA.

  • Advising Platinum Equity Group ("PEG") on multiple portfolio acquisitions in the industrial manufacturing and technology sectors. For example, UDS 2.7 billion acquisition of Cision; a USD 2 billion merger of two aerospace parts suppliers (involving complex horizontal overlaps and five filings, including a UK filing); USD 4 billion acquisition of Emerson Network Power (eight merger filings); close to USD 4 billion acquisition of Husky Injection Molding Systems (nine merger filings and multiple FIR filings); and close to USD 7 billion acquisition of an IT and technology solutions provider (14 merger filings and three FIR filings).

  • Advising General Electric on the USD 11 billion disposal of its transportation division to Wabtec (a manufacturer of freight and passenger locomotives). The transaction involved complex vertical overlaps, 11 filings and remedies in certain jurisdictions.

  • Advising General Electric in its USD 3.25 billion disposal of its distributed power division.

  • Acting for the sell side in an approx. USD 1.5 billion transaction involving the acquisition by a competitor of a target in the air transport sector and advising on a complex remedy package.

  • Advising Unilever on the global merger control aspects of the divestment of their soy beverage business, AdeS soy beverage business, to Coca Cola FEMSA and The Coca Cola Company.

  • Advising a medical devices manufacturer on an investigation by the Italian Competition Authority related to alleged abuse of dominance in maintenance services for medical devices.

  • Advising on a compliance investigation of a global bank under investigation by European, US and Singaporean competition authorities for alleged breaches of competition law in the FX and metals trading division.

  • Successfully defended a client in the engine and power generation sector under investigation by the European Commission for alleged anti-competitive information exchange. The European Commission closed the file after 12 months without finding an infringement.

  • Conducting large-scale internal audits for two multinational, luxury automotive companies in relation to their operational compliance with PRC competition law. The audits focused on distribution strategies and information exchange practices.
