Biography

David Cooper is a special counsel in the Banking & Finance team at Baker McKenzie, Sydney. David joined the Firm in 2011 from the banking and finance team at another leading Australian firm. He has also worked in-house at Investec. At Investec, David advised on acquisition finance, property investment banking, mining and resource finance, lending to high net worth clients and lending to accounting and medical professionals, including asset finance. He also worked in a non-legal role at Investec as an analyst focused on restructuring Investec's non-performing loan portfolio.

Practice Focus

David is experienced in advising private equity houses, corporate borrowers and lenders on leveraged acquisition, corporate working capital, project finance, property and asset financing transactions, as well as complex, multi-jurisdictional and cross-border financing transactions. He has also worked with clients on insolvency, debt-recovery and financial regulatory compliance.
