
Barry Chang
Biography
Barry Chang is an associate in Baker McKenzie’s Palo Alto office and a member of the Firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group. Barry’s practice focuses primarily on public and private company mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs, strategic investments and other corporate transactions. He has represented clients in a variety of industries, including technology, private equity, financial services, food and retail. He most recently served as in-house corporate counsel for a leading San Francisco-based fintech company where he advised on all corporate development initiatives and strategic investments. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Barry was an analyst in Goldman Sachs’ fixed income sales and trading group, where he sold corporate bonds and credit derivatives.

- Broadcom in its USD 37 billion sale to Avago (named as a member of the deal team receiving the 2016 California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year Award for M&A)
- a special committee of the SolarCity board of directors in SolarCity’s USD 2.6 billion sale to Tesla Motors
- Square in its USD 410 million sale of its Caviar food ordering platform to DoorDash
- Liberty Mutual in its USD 3.3 billion sale of its group benefits, life and annuity businesses to Lincoln Financial and Progressive Life
- Ellation in its USD 600 million sale to Otter Media, a joint venture between AT&T and The Chernin Group
- Xperi in its USD 850 million acquisition of DTS
- RPX in its USD 550 million sale to HGGC
